This work is a rework of an area already processed in the past, namely the southwestern area of the state of Utah, in the USA.

The map now integrates buildings, roads, watercourses, and lakes from OpenStreetMap, as has been happening for just under a month, in addition to the classic land cover data to define biomes and vegetation.

The arrangement of the red sand and the desert has been improved compared to the previously elaborated map.

It is strongly recommended to use this map together with the Fabric Seasons mod, because due to the terrain’s altitude being perpetually above 130 in Minecraft, it would constantly snow across the entire map with an unrealistic effect. Fabric Seasons, on the other hand, allows snow to be based on the season (which in turn is based on the game’s time), leading to rain in cold biomes during the summer period, and snow in warm biomes during the winter period.

The altitude of the map in the real world ranges from 669m to 3432m asl

In Minecraft, the lowest point on the map is at 285,while the highest point is at 1144, with a vertical resolution of 3m.

Water level is at 62, while building maximum height is 1536.

Data used to process the map:

  • USGS 3DEP 1m and 3m DEM data for the Terrain Elevation - cubic reinterpolation to 3m resolution

  • NLCD 2018 Land Cover at 30m resolution data for biomes positioning - cubic reinterpolation to 3m resolution

  • Open Street Map data for cities, streets, waypoints, coastlines, rivers, streams and beaches positioning - rasterization to 3m resolution
