Hey all!

Since the latest poll shows that a lot of folks (over 25% with 45 votes is usually a sure thing) want to see a full Campaign book. And since #2 and #3 are "cities" and "random encounters", chances are I'll be able to work most of it in.

I've used our friend ChatGPT to come up with some plots, taking John Carpenter movies and combining them with D&D-style monsters and adventures. This is what it came up with. Obviously, I'll change up any non-SRD monsters, but at least this will give you a feel for the adventures.

Vote for the one you like best.

Title: The Shadow of the Frost Wyrm

Plot: Inspired by "The Thing," a remote outpost in the frozen tundra is besieged by a shapeshifting Frost Wyrm. The adventurers must navigate the treacherous terrain, decipher the monster's true form, and protect themselves from the ever-encroaching paranoia as they race to stop the creature before it unleashes its devastating ice storm upon the world.

Title: The Dread Labyrinth

Plot: Drawing from "In the Mouth of Madness," the party is tasked with tracking down a reclusive author whose stories are coming to life, unleashing a horde of nightmarish D&D creatures upon the world. As they delve deeper into the author's twisted realm, they must navigate an ever-changing maze of horrors and confront their own sanity.

Title: The Illithid Harvest

Plot: Combining elements of "The Fog" and "They Live," an eerie fog rolls over a coastal town, heralding the arrival of a sinister Illithid colony. The adventurers must uncover the truth behind the creatures' mind-controlling powers, infiltrate their lair, and put an end to their nefarious plot to harvest the townspeople's brains.

Title: The Witchlight Plague

Plot: Inspired by "Prince of Darkness," a group of scholars discovers an ancient artifact containing a powerful curse that threatens to unleash a plague of Will-o'-Wisps and Shadow Demons. The adventurers must race against time to decipher the artifact's cryptic secrets, combat the encroaching darkness, and prevent the Witchlight Plague from consuming the world.

Title: The Otyugh Apocalypse

Plot: Drawing from "Escape from New York" and "Ghosts of Mars," the party is sent into a quarantined city overrun by mutated Otyughs and their gruesome, infectious spawn. As they navigate the dangerous urban wasteland, they must uncover the source of the infestation, rescue trapped survivors, and prevent the Otyugh Apocalypse from spreading beyond the city walls.

Title: The Nightmare Nexus

Plot: Inspired by "The Ward" and "Village of the Damned," the party is summoned to a secluded village plagued by vivid nightmares that seem to manifest in the waking world. The source of these horrors is a mysterious portal to the Shadowfell, known as the Nightmare Nexus, which has been opened by a powerful Night Hag. The adventurers must delve into the dark corners of their own minds, confront the nightmares that haunt them, and seal the Nexus before the Night Hag's army of horrors consumes the village and the world beyond.

Title: The Mindflayer Masquerade

Plot: Drawing inspiration from "They Live," a town's inhabitants are slowly being replaced by doppelgangers controlled by a hidden Mindflayer colony. The adventurers, equipped with a magical item that allows them to see through the doppelgangers' disguises, must uncover the extent of the invasion and the true identities of the infiltrators. As they gather allies and infiltrate the Mindflayer's lair, they must thwart the colony's plans to enslave the entire world and put an end to the Mindflayer Masquerade once and for all.

Title: The Revenant's Curse

Plot: Inspired by "Halloween," a terrifying Revenant returns to his hometown each year to exact revenge on the descendants of those who wronged him in life. The relentless undead stalker, gifted with unnatural strength and resilience, is driven by an ancient curse that compels him to carry out his vengeful mission. The adventurers must delve into the town's dark history, uncover the truth behind the Revenant's curse, and devise a way to put the tormented soul to rest permanently, all while evading the Revenant's relentless pursuit and protecting the remaining descendants from his unstoppable wrath.

Some of these sound really great, but I'm a sucker for "dredge up the past" horror investigations

Um ... I'll take one of each. :) Each one of these are strong plots and make for great stories!

You're using my newest "secret sauce"! I've had ChatGPT helping out in my ongoing campaign the past few months and it's like having a co-pilot to cook up adventures!

All of the above? Always up for horror and mystery modules. Looking forward to some good ol 1980s style frights.

Wow! Dave, did you know that there's a complete write up of each option here? 😉😆 I should probably read them before voting!

Definitely recommend! I was working at a gas station and a dude came in in a John Carpenter shirt and when I complimented him on it he said he got it at a JC concert New bucket list task unlocked
