I know this is going to sound absolutely insane, but I'm actually super far ahead on writing books for Helkara right now. Here's the current status:

  • HELK1 - Campaign Sourcebook - Proofed onto Formatting
  • HELK2 - Campaign Guidebook - Drafted and in Proofing
  • HELK3 - Player's Companion - 75% Drafted
  • HELK4 - Monster Book - 75% Drafted, waiting on art

Pretty wild, considering that I started developing Helkara on January 25th of this year. I've already got roughly 256 pages worth of content and a mountain of art made for it.

Uncommon Adventures

So while I'm waiting on our team to catch up, I figured I'd knock out a quickie non-fantasy adventure setting using roughly this same format with some OSR-style rules. I've got a few ideas, but I'm interested to see what you want. These are meant to be self-contained adventures but will also have some light campaign play, too. And heck.. if it's popular, I'll expand on it.

The name for this line of smaller RPG games will be Uncommon Adventures. I have used ChatGPT to come up with some weird ideas, and, well... it delivered. LOL

Your Choices

Here's a quick description of each of your choices. Vote for the one you like best.

Kitchen Catastrophe: Players take on the role of chefs and kitchen staff working in a high-stress, high-stakes restaurant environment, dealing with disasters like kitchen fires, exploding soufflés, and competing with rival chefs.

Time-Loop Paradox: Players are stuck in a time loop, repeating the same day over and over again. They must figure out what's causing the loop and how to break it while dealing with the consequences of their actions in each iteration of the day.

Mythical Creatures' Support Group: Players take on the role of mythical creatures (such as vampires, werewolves, and mermaids) attending a support group to deal with their unique problems and struggles.

Extraterrestrial Exchange Program: Players are aliens who have been sent to Earth as part of a cultural exchange program, trying to understand and integrate into human society while dealing with their own alien abilities and culture.

Monstrous Battle Royale: Players take on the role of monsters, battling against each other in an arena where only one will emerge victorious. Each monster has unique powers and abilities, and players must use strategy and tactics to outsmart and overpower their opponents.

Dystopian Gossip Girl: Set in a dystopian future, players take on the role of teenagers attending a prestigious high school filled with intrigue, scandal, and power struggles.

Haunted House Hunters: Players take on the role of paranormal investigators, exploring and investigating haunted locations to uncover the truth about ghostly phenomena.

Retro Future: Set in an alternate universe where the future turned out like it was imagined in the 1950s, players take on the role of characters navigating a world of flying cars, ray guns, and robots.

Time-Traveling Dinosaur Hunters: Players travel through time to hunt and study dinosaurs but find themselves dealing with all kinds of unexpected problems and paradoxes.

Cyberpunk Cats: Set in a dystopian future where cats have evolved to become the dominant species, players take on the role of cyber-enhanced feline characters navigating a world of neon lights, corporate conspiracies, and high-tech gadgets.

Cat Lady Cats: Players take on the role of cats owned by eccentric and obsessive cat ladies, navigating a world of scratching posts, laser pointers, and catnip while dealing with the challenges of feline life. The cats may also band together to solve mysteries and fight off rival feline gangs.

Killer Game Show: Players are contestants on a deadly game show where they compete in physical and mental challenges against each other, all while being hunted by the show's sadistic producers and crew.

Ahhh, so many good choices! I wish I could vote for my top three instead of just one. I could have a lot of fun with any of these!
