Ages ago, on a world beyond the darkness, a wizard once lived. A mighty wizard who dared to claim godhood, he faced challenges set before him by the gods. To craft a truly unique spell that the multiverses had never seen, to find beauty in its truest form, to cast off his powers for a time and learn to live as a common man, to hold the moment of creation itself in his hand and resist the temptation to alter it, to become a leader of men and become the king of a great land. But the greatest challenge, his last challenge, was to face his one and only fear. To enter into single combat and defeat the greatest of daemons to infest his land. The grand butcher of the blackened hordes.

In preparation for this battle, a battle that he knew might corrupt him and cause him to fall, he created seven magical knives to slay him. Each named Magendeath, they are simple thrust daggers made from magnetized iron, and decorated with the gold from his laurel crown and the blue cloth of his archmage's vestments. One each was given to his three daughters, and his four apprentices to be guarded with their lives and to be used to slay him if he falls. However, as the world turned and ages passed, the blades moved into the hands of later apprentices, and then into mercenaries and explorers. Then later across the multiverses.

Only seven of these weapons exist.

AD&D: Cold Iron Dagger +1, +5 vs. elves, half-elves, fairies and other woodland spirits. Creatures damaged may not cast spells or use spell-like abilities on their next turn.

Knight†Blade: Dagger, damage is Withering KD against faerie folk. Creatures damaged by the blade may not make Wits (Sorcery) checks until the end of their next turn.
