Chapter Eight – The Most Exquisite Confession In The World

Maddox couldn’t tear his eyes away, but he had to, anyway. He was carrying a tall stack of boxes, and stealing glances at his sexy boyfriend wasn’t a good idea at all. Jonathan looked damn fine in a black tank top, cut close to the neck, stylish worn jeans, and work boots. One didn’t need to look closely to realize that everything Jonathan had on was expensive, but he was clearly bent on working hard. As much as his boyfriend kept telling him that he had amazing arms, Maddox was just in awe of how nice Jonathan’s arm muscles stretched and flexed with each effort. He also liked the gloves. They hid those hands that never got enough of his body well, elegant hands that could make him go wild with just a touch.

He now had a soft spot for working Jonathan, just as he had for studious Jonathan, happy Jonathan, confused Jonathan, aroused—

“Maddox,” someone called to him. “Those go over there.”

“Right, right,” he said and shook his head. They were working now. He wasn’t supposed to ogle his better half. Soon to be better-half. He got busy carrying the boxes to the designated place. They were on the clock and needed to set up the main structure before noon. So many things went into setting up a stage, and Maddox was amazed by all the work that was required. They were just the grunts and not allowed to touch the professional equipment, but it was still exciting.

“Good job, boys,” the man in charge announced once they carried all the parts and the riggers finished their work. “You can take a break, and we’ll regroup in one hour.”

It was hard work; Jonathan had been right about that. But it was hardly working, and that, again, was true, and just as his boyfriend had said it. Maddox was happy to have plenty of cash in his pocket for his final year of college, but, above that, he was getting worked up about something else. They hadn’t talked about the engagement much so far, since the parents were in charge of organizing the party, but there was no way he would allow someone else to take care of the ring. Would Jonathan like it? He had already bought it, and it sat neatly in his bag. Although there was no reason for him to suspect anyone of getting handsy with his personal belongings, he checked the small pocket in which the box was stashed away several times daily, whenever he had a chance.

What was a good time for him to give it to Jonathan? Although there was plenty of advice on the Internet, Maddox hadn’t found what he was looking for. He wanted the moment to be special in a way that wasn’t inspired by things read on the net and already done a thousand times over by other people.

He hopped on a huge crate and graciously accepted the sandwiches handed to him by the personnel in charge of feeding everyone during their lunch break. He took enough food for Jonathan and Rusty as well, although he had no idea where his bestie was. From the moment they had become roadies, Rusty had been so excited, wanting to learn everything, that each time they looked for him he was with other people, learning everything there was to learn about how arena concerts were set up and the role they played in the success of such events. He had even gotten under the band’s members’ skin, so he was never stuck in any shortage of friends.

Maddox couldn’t complain. He liked working hard, but that allowed him and Jonathan little time by themselves, and in the evenings they were pretty tired on a regular basis. That didn’t stop them from stealing moments here and there, but sleeping on the bus with so many other people meant very little time with proper privacy.

So, the fact that Rusty chose to hang out more with other people than with them wasn’t an issue. They worked together very well, and more than once Rusty had caught him watching Jonathan. Of course, that meant he was, without mistake, at the receiving end of various jokes the kinkster could think of.

On the other hand, Maddox was pretty sure that Rusty was well aware of the little time they had to spend together, and that was why he didn’t crowd them with his attention and usual crazy self. He didn’t understand how so many people missed how intelligent and sensitive Rusty was. But, in a way, he was glad. Rusty didn’t show his real face most of the time, and when he did, it was with the people that mattered most to him.

Now, it was a moment when Rusty thought it good to hang out with him, because he hopped up on the crate by his side and accepted the offered sandwich. “Man,” he commented, “this is awesome. I always thought doing this would be fun, and it’s beyond everything I expected.”

“Soon, you’ll learn to do it all by yourself, right?” Maddox pointed around them.

Rusty grinned. “I think I’m driving people nuts with all the questions.”

“Better them than me,” Maddox said with a shrug. “So, when do you reckon we’re going to see you up on a stage like this one?”

Rusty moved his head ahead so Maddox didn’t have a clear view of his face. “No idea,” came the reply. “Being a star like that takes a lot of time and effort.”

That phrase sounded like it had been taken from a magazine. Maddox knew avoidance when he saw it. “You can do it.”

“Yeah, I guess.” Rusty shrugged it off and began biting on the sandwich like it needed to be murdered first.

“Maybe you should try jamming with the guys,” Maddox suggested. Nothing motivated Rusty more than the promise of a pleasurable experience.

“Maybe,” Rusty admitted.

There was no point in going down that road, not now. Rusty, as much as he enjoyed everything new, needed easing into things. Once he became familiar with them, he turned into their king.

“Where’s Jonathan?” Rusty asked.

“He should be here, too.”

“You know, I didn’t think I’d ever see an aristocrat hard at work.”

“Jonathan doesn’t think himself to be an aristocrat.”

“Yeah, maybe, but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t one.”

“He worked at the library for the entire year,” Maddox reminded Rusty.

“That’s like intellectual work,” Rusty said. “I mean, I bet he was making himself tea and sipping it while reading philosophy or something sophisticated like that.”

“He was actually busier with library-related stuff. I never noticed any cup of tea around when I went to see him on the job.”

Rusty snickered. “On his job? Or your job?”

“I don’t even want to know what you mean by that, you fool.”

“Have you ever done it in the library?”

“No.” Maddox scowled with feigned indignation. “I mean, he did kiss me once--” He stopped abruptly.

“Did you get a boner?”

“Rusty, not everything leads to that.” Maddox glared.

“Yes, it does.”

Maddox just shook his head. There was no point in arguing with Rusty when it came to such things. And he wasn’t sure he could explain what he had felt that time when Jonathan had kissed him so sweetly after taking care of his bleeding nose. Such things were best experienced; there was no easy way to explain them completely.

Rusty waved a hand in front of his eyes. “Are you getting a boner right now?”

Maddox batted his friend’s hand away. “Yeah, right.”

“Here comes Jonathan,” Rusty said.

There had to be some truth in how people talked about the person of their dreams. Not that he had dreamed of Jonathan before meeting him, but the phrase made total sense. Jonathan wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and then took off his gloves. He looked so yummy, sweaty like that.

“Should I leave the two of you alone?” Rusty whispered in his ear, so close to him that Maddox started and almost fell off the crate.

“How is it going?” Jonathan asked and gave Maddox a short kiss on the lips before accepting the offered sandwich.

“Rusty’s his usually kinky self, talking about boners and whatnot,” Maddox replied. The way Jonathan offered such small tokens of affection in the most natural way tickled the inside of his chest. He could still feel the light kiss from moments earlier lingering on his lips.

“Everyone’s impressed with you, Rusty,” Jonathan said and took a seat by Maddox’s side. He hooked one arm over his shoulders and started eating. “They say they’ve never seen someone as hardworking as you.”

Rusty scrunched up his nose. “Is that a compliment?”

Jonathan laughed. “Sure, if you want it to be. Since I’m never entirely convinced when it comes to you.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” The question wasn’t defensive, just a sign of curiosity on Rusty’s part.

“That you’re a surprise. All of the time,” Jonathan explained.

Rusty hopped down from the crate and patted Maddox’s knee. “Break’s over for me. Have fun with your boners, my dudes.”

“Fuck off, asshole,” Maddox said with a grin and lifted one leg as if to kick Rusty.

As expected, his friend just moved away and smirked. “Everyone around here calls you ‘the lovebirds’. Better live up to their expectations, boys.”

Maddox waved. “Shoo already. Or I’m taking my boner out and challenging you with it.”

“I can respect that,” Rusty replied. “But I have better things to do. See ya later!”

Jonathan was caressing the side of his neck with a firm thumb in the most distracting way. “Rusty’s not spending much time with us, is he?”

“It’s not a problem. He’s very excitable. Like a little dog.”

“Don’t call him little. He might hear you,” Jonathan said, blowing the words over his ear.

Maddox shivered as a small jolt of pleasure coursed through him. Jonathan could make any word sound lewd, even the most common ones. “My only problem is that we’re not spending enough time together,” he said.

Jonathan caressed his ear with his lips. “I know. Would you care to go on a date?”

“A date? We’re sleeping in the same bunk bed.”

“Well, yes, but we have to play nice because that’s the civilized thing to do. What do you say about a wild date?”

“A wild date,” Maddox said slowly, measuring the words.

“Tonight, during the concert, we’re going to slip away together, and not a living soul will know where we are and what we are up to.”

“And what will we be up to?” Maddox asked. Jonathan’s caress became bolder, an index finger moving lower to touch his throat. He loved that. If he weren’t overly conscious of being caught in the act, he would totally go for it and purr like a cat. Jonathan’s hand now wrapped firmly around his neck, giving Maddox a giddy feeling in anticipation. “Fuck me,” he murmured, “should I say, choke me and let me call you daddy?”

“What?” Jonathan’s question didn’t feign surprise.

Maddox felt his cheeks burning up. “Nothing.” This wasn’t the moment or the place to explain to Jonathan the details of his most recent kinks. They were still in no other stage than a vague fantasy.

“No, no,” Jonathan insisted, “I’m quite certain I heard you say something.”

“I’ll tell you later,” Maddox said quickly and moved away from Jonathan so he could wrap his arms around his boyfriend’s waist and hold him while regaining control of his own reactions.

“Do that,” Jonathan breathed. “Because I felt like it was something worth exploring.” His voice dropped, husky with innuendo, and Maddox swallowed.

He’d tell Jonathan later. Yeah, totally.

***

They were giggling as they were stumbling through the woods. The sound of water nearby let them know that they were on the right track.

“Are we going for a dip?” Maddox asked and nuzzled Jonathan’s neck, making sure to bite it a little for good measure.

“It’s one of the highlights of this wild date I’ve been planning for tonight,” Jonathan replied. “The water’s warm enough.”

“It better be, ‘cause I don’t want my dick to shrivel up on you.”

Jonathan laughed and moved to grab him from behind. In quite a daring move, he put both hands on Maddox’s crotch, squeezing hard. “I don’t think we have to worry about that.”

Maddox let out a grunt. “Fuck me,” he moaned, “let’s just get down to business already.”

“Business?” Jonathan teased his ear, not letting go of his cock while still forcing him to walk. “Is that what we’re calling it nowadays?”

“Call it whatever. I think I’m going to start calling it ‘a bad case of blue balls’.”

“Maddox,” Jonathan said, as he stopped and his tone became serious, “you should have told me you were frustrated by our lack of sexual activity.”

Maddox stopped, too, and smacked his forehead. “Don’t call it sexual activity. You’re taking the fun out of it. Just say fucking.” He said that because he liked it the most when Jonathan talked dirty.

“All right, you should have told me about your blue balls being caused by our lack of fucking,” Jonathan obliged.

They were by the side of the lake now. Jonathan turned Maddox around and gave him a long kiss that left both of them breathless. He wrapped his hands gently around Maddox’s throat, massaging slowly, but squeezing just enough. Maddox could feel his pulse quickening. Did Jonathan understand everything he wanted without any words being spoken?

The second kiss was more forceful, as Jonathan made him open his mouth wide to accept his tongue. Maddox stood his ground while Jonathan kissed him wildly. As caught up as he was in it, he didn’t realize when they ended up kneeling in the grass. Jonathan didn’t look in the mood to let him breathe for a moment and made him lie down on his back. All this time, his neck remained firmly between his lover’s hands, and that gave him a strong rush. As much as he talked like someone from a different era sometimes, Jonathan’s desire for him was real.

“Fuck my ass,” Maddox let out, as soon as Jonathan gave him a break.

“Is that what you want?” Jonathan teased him.

“Oh, yes, oh, yes,” Maddox chanted while his boyfriend licked his ear, making him shudder in even greater arousal. “Like this, hold me down like this.”

“I would never tell you ‘no’, and you know that. Now take your jeans off. I’m not letting go of you.”

It wasn’t an easy task, but he didn’t want Jonathan to let go of his throat, either. He was breathing hard from exertion and arousal at the same time when he finally managed to strip himself naked from the waist down.

“You will have to prepare yourself,” Jonathan cooed in his ear. “I will not let go,” he repeated the same mantra. “My right pocket.”

It was a clumsy way of dealing with a fantasy, yet Maddox was into it all the way. “Ready,” he breathed as he pulled out Jonathan’s cock and guided it to his backdoor.

“Good boy,” Jonathan praised him and pushed in.

Fuck, but the lack of fucking meant that he was really tight now. Jonathan encouraged him slowly, pouring sweet flattery in his ear, and continuing gently but relentlessly. The sensation of being so full brought tears to his eyes, and not in a bad way.

“Are you with me, baby?” Jonathan called softly.

“I’m the one who calls you baby,” Maddox reminded him.

“You’re too lovable not to call you that,” Jonathan countered. “Now let me love you properly.”

“Yeah, love me with your cock,” Maddox whispered. It was half a joke. He wanted it badly, and Jonathan was good at giving it to him. “Are you all the way in?”

“Now I am. Stop talking,” Jonathan ordered and squeezed Maddox’s throat with care.

It was just what he wanted, as much as he wanted it. Jonathan held him, kissing him from time to time, and fucking him into the ground. Maddox really hoped no one was struck with the crazy idea of checking out the riverside at that hour, and with the coolest concert around going on at that very moment. He wrapped his legs tightly around Jonathan and hiked up his ass, helping him fuck deeper.

“So good,” he moaned and thrashed under his boyfriend, as he became undone.

Jonathan slowed down, to let him recover. Always so considerate, his soon to be fiancé. His eyes snapped open. Where were his jeans? What if—

His train of thought was brought to a halt by Jonathan slamming deep inside his ass. His worries short-circuited, he began cursing under his breath while the hard cock inside him made his arousal skyrocket once more. Only Jonathan would be considerate of his needs and make him come first, and then make him come for a second time while he was supposed to be taking care of himself.

His t-shirt was a complete mess.

“I love you,” Jonathan murmured against his lips.

Maddox knew there couldn’t be a third time for him as he was too spent, but he wished his balls and cock still would when Jonathan began shooting deep in his ass. Just that, and it made him go nuts with want for more.

Jonathan let go of his throat and started raining kisses on Maddox’s face. “You weren’t the only one with a bad case of blue balls. I hope I didn’t break you.”

“Like I’d break so easily. Plus, if you do, it’s your duty to put me back together. Since you’re going to be my fiancé soon.” That reminded him of his earlier reason to panic. “Oh, fuck,” he said and moved from under Jonathan to go search for his jeans.

“What’s wrong?” Jonathan asked. “Maddox?”

“Where the hell is it?” Maddox growled under his breath as he searched the pockets and found nothing. He began to pat the grass around them.

Suddenly, a light came from above. Jonathan was holding up his phone, his cock still hanging half-hard out of his jeans.

“Thanks,” Maddox said. “Ah, here it is.”

“What?” Jonathan asked. “What did you lose?”

Maddox held up the small box victoriously and showed it to Jonathan. “This,” he said. “It’s for you. Fuck, I shouldn’t have said it like that. It was supposed to be a moment.”

“A moment?” Jonathan snatched the box out of his hand before he had time to react. “Oh,” he said as soon as he understood what it was.

Maddox groaned and hid his face in the crook of his elbow. “I was supposed to go down on one knee and stuff,” he complained.

“I’m not complaining. Maddox, this is beautiful.”

Maddox peeked at Jonathan, who was holding the engagement ring and looking at it by the light of the flashlight from his phone. Still, he felt the need to pout. “It was supposed to be a cool moment.”

Jonathan gave him the ring and then presented his hand. “You’re on all fours, my cum dripping from your sexy ass. I think it’s the most exquisite confession and proposal in the world.”

“For real?” Maddox was pretty sure his eyes had lit up like a Christmas tree. “Do you really like it?”

Jonathan looked at the ring on his finger and then knelt by Maddox’s side. “Do you know that I’m the luckiest man alive?”

“I don’t. Tell me about it.”

Jonathan gave him another kiss instead of an answer at first. “I’m the luckiest man alive because I’ll be the one who gets to tell you ‘I do’.”

Maddox felt beyond pleased with himself. “I didn’t want my mom to get you the ring for the engagement. I’d have been beyond embarrassed.”

“Well, in that case, you’re making me look bad, because I didn’t get you a ring,” Jonathan said.

“You don’t have to worry about that. I’m the one proposing.”

Jonathan chuckled softly. “I did get you something and it’s waiting for you at home. At my parents’ place.”

“Hmm, what it is?”

“Something a lot less romantic than this,” Jonathan said with a sigh.

“Don’t keep me in suspense. What is it?” Maddox asked.

“It’s a car,” Jonathan said quietly. “See? Not romantic at all.”

“What kind of car?” Maddox continued his prodding.

“Well, it’s Italian, and let’s say certain publications say it’s the best fit for someone who’s going into finance,” Jonathan explained.

“An Italian car?” Maddox said slowly. “What brand?”

“It’s not a Ferrari,” Jonathan replied. “It’s just a Maserati. Here, this is the one.” He showed Maddox his phone.

“Just a--” Maddox huffed. “This one’s like a hundred grand or something! Oh, man, I’m the kept dude in this relationship!”

“You’re not the kept dude!” Jonathan protested. “I don’t know what I was thinking. I should have thought of a ring.”

“No, that was my idea,” Maddox said possessively and kissed Jonathan on the cheek. “Now I can give my old car to Al. She’s been making mom’s head hurt—Wait, did you think of a car because you talked to my mom?”

Jonathan hunched his shoulders. “Guilty. But it’s too excessive, right? I mean, I used money of my own, but still, I feel like I come across as a rich douchebag.”

Maddox sighed and embraced his boyfriend tightly. “If you’re that, then I’m into rich douchebags. Man, I cannot wait to drive it.”

Jonathan still didn’t appear to be completely convinced. “We could exchange it for another model.”

“No way. You picked it for me.”

“Yes. It only took me hours and hours of reading about cars, something of which I know next to nothing.”

“Then, we’re in the same boat, because it also took me hours to find the perfect ring for you. Is it perfect?”

“Yes, it is. I’m crazy about it.”

“Good. And you know, it looks like I have a good head for business already. I basically traded a ring for a car,” Maddox joked.

Jonathan laughed and pressed his head against Maddox’s shoulder. “My dad still wants you to read all of those books he gave you. So, don’t celebrate your new found fortune just yet.”

“I know, don’t worry. I’ll work hard to impress your dad.”

“Let’s go for that dip. What do you say?”

Maddox had no qualms about shedding the few clothes he still had on. His t-shirt would have to go since it was turning crusty already. He laughed as he ran toward the water, Jonathan right behind him, busily chasing his ass.

***

He couldn’t help it. He touched the ring and adjusted it so that the stone was centered on his finger.

“What’s that?” Rusty asked, appearing right behind him and giving him a small scare, as usual.

Jonathan flexed his hand. “Maddox gave it to me.” He grinned as he showed off the ring. Damn, why was he behaving like a smitten girl?

“Super cool. I would have gone only for the black titanium design. You know, without that. Is it a small diamond or something? Oh,” Rusty exclaimed, finally realizing. “It’s an engagement ring! That was what Maddie kept hiding in his bag. You know, he was like ‘my precious’ and all that, while fiddling with it.”

“Rusty, I’m sure Maddox didn’t behave like that.”

“No way, he totally did. So I’m telling on him, ‘cause I’m your bro, too, and you should know that your boyfriend gets into embarrassing stuff only for your sake.”

“I suppose such knowledge does come in handy for the times when I want to tease him.”

“Tease me about what?”

Rusty jumped theatrically upon hearing Maddox’s voice.

“Nothing,” Jonathan said brightly. “I was just showing Rusty the ring you gave me.”

“So,” Rusty turned the cannons on his friend, “did you get down on one knee and all that?”

Jonathan bit on his bottom lip and gave Maddox a long look.

“Did he get on two knees?” Rusty asked, never the guy to leave any box unchecked.

“Did you see the ring?” Maddox pressed into Rusty, making him take a few steps backward.

“Yeah.”

“Then break’s over. The guys need you backstage.”

“They do? But I want to hear the whole story,” Rusty complained.

“Maybe when you’re old enough,” Jonathan said, keen on adding fuel to the fire.

“Wow, was it that X-rated?” Rusty asked.

Maddox continued to push his friend in the direction of his choosing. Behind them, Jonathan had to laugh. When his boyfriend turned toward him with a murderous look on his face, he only laughed harder.

“You know Rusty’s going to let his imagination run with it, right?” Maddox said and crossed his arms.

“Let him do that. We’ll have the satisfaction of contradicting him, no matter what he says.”

“He might guess the correct answer.”

“I wouldn’t betray you. I’ll just let Rusty wring his brain dry over it. It will be fun.”

Maddox moved closer and crowded Jonathan’s personal space, smiling with not so good intentions. “You know, baby,” he said slowly, “as much as I enjoy getting dominated by you in bed and outside of it, I don’t mind turning the tables. Guess who’s up for a spanking next.”

“Are you going to go hard on me?” Jonathan let his eyes roam over Maddox’s face, then lower and lower.

Maddox snorted. “You bet. I’ll pull out all the stops. Be ready to be unable to sit for a week.”

“Hmm, sounds like a plan.”

“You know, you shouldn’t enjoy it that much.”

“But I’m sure I will,” Jonathan said promptly.

“Then, I’ll make sure you’re getting plenty.”

Jonathan grinned and leaned forward until he could whisper in Maddox’s ear. “Then go all in, my love. Bring a collar, too.”

It looked like that piece of information was enough to make Maddox’s internal system glitch in need of a reboot, because he stopped completely. He wasn’t even breathing.

“Well?” Jonathan asked, slightly nervous now.

“If I bring a collar, I’ll bring a leash, too,” Maddox replied, sending shivers down his spine. “And I’ll make sure to ride you like I mean it.”

Hmm. It looked like two could play that game. Not that Jonathan had any regrets.
