Askeladd and Gratianus are negotiating safe passage with Brycheiniog's messenger and since Canute wasn't confident enough to help convince him, Askeladd chooses to tell his plan to the man...as well as some of his backstory and motivations D: Looks like he's half Welsh and half Dane...and he hates the latter! Canute might be his way of manipulating England into signing a peace treaty with Wales, which would save the country he loves!
