I think you were spoiled because you had already heard this anime was dark. This was a big twist when it was released as it really just starts out as a magical girl anime.

Yeah, we realize that D: unfortunately, it's not something we could've prevented, considering we've known this since way before we ever decided to react to the show 😅 but we'd rather be upfront about it instead of pretending ;)
