Homelander truly does want to help his son and not let him go through what he did. When he talks to Becca even she sees his love and Homelander genuinely was agreeing with Becca, but i knew Stormfront would change his mind soon as she knew, and then get him to tell Ryan the truth with her so she can try and replace Becca. Becca should of just been honest with Ryan herself and took charge of things while Homelander was single, giving him time with Ryan and ways he can bond with him properly. Also Ryan doed need to learn his powers at least abit because if he cant control them or doent even know what he has, accidents can happen or a situation could make him use it without realising, so Homelander is right too about his powers and keeping him isolated will damage him. Homelander was just like Ryan at one point and like the Dr who raised Homelander said, he was a sweey boy who enjoyed the outdoors and wasnt interested in being this figure, superhero, Vought specifically made him like that when it comes to his god complex and lack of empathy for normal humans when things go wrong. Also No guys, Butcher definetly would of killed that mans entire family, it was no bluff if you know billy butcher. Hes just as ruthless as Homelander when it comes to what he wants, especially when it involves Becca.
