This episode feels like the end of a chapter and with good reason! Oleg is killed, Flatnose loses it, forcing Ubbe and everyone else to leave Greenland and Gunnhild decides she'd rather kill herselg and be with Bjorn rather instead of marrying Harold...D:

I believe Oleg did have a realisation at the end and was genuine to Igor and Ivar but it was too late and i dont think he could be trusted again and left with Igor if Ivar leaves, Ivar wouldnt leave until his precious Igor was in safe hands. This was all about Ivars redemption i think and thats why we didnt get a brutal death for Oleg or a battle. Plus they paid off some of Olegs leaders, that man was in Olegs meeting in ep 4. Ivar is finally getting all he ever wanted, he did things the right way this time with Katia, even if it means not being their to raise his son. Ivar finally has an heir he always wanted, a legacy. Ivar also got the unconditional love and bond he always wanted from Igor these last 2 episodes. Igor and Ivars goodbye broke me, especially since it parrallels again Floki and Ivars hug in 4x17 and then when Ivar begged Floki to stay and told him he couldnt leave him, he needed him and was like his real father. I cried so much i couldn't see properly and had to keep rewinding the scene. Ivar has come so far and i dont believe he has changed necessarily because hes always had that loving, caring side, he just never showed it much or had anyone to really give it to since his parents died and Freydis betrayed him. Ivar put on his facade around his brothers alot so its normal for Hvitserk to think hes changed, im glad he noticed it either way. Katia and Ivars goodbye was also beautiful and i think she truly liked or loved Ivar and wanted him, but saw he was clearly in love with Freydis and thinks she would dissapoint him in the end, thats why he has to leave. She ended up being so good for him and the opposite of Freydis, and actually is giving him a child so its a shame Ivar didnt fall for her first and not because she looked like Freydis. U need to watch the uncut goodbye with Igor and Ivar please so much was cut how, Igor begged and told him he needed him and loves him.

Oleg's realisation at the end was that he had lost another wife to betrayal, a friend in Ivar, a son in Igor and a brother coming to kill him. And I feel that is was all of that at one time that was too much for even him and it drove him over the edge.
