I do think Freydis does believe in Ivar and loves him but she also had an agenda and is offering him all he really wants by lying, going the wrong way about making him happy. She didnt need to say he can have a son, he was content with her love anyways. Ivar must have some doubt deep down but hes very religious and truly wants this clearly so I get why he believes her, him crying about it made me melt and dread him finding out the truth because it will break his heart. At first I shipped them when they first met but now shes lying to him and making him believe hes a god so that can never end well if u deceive Ivar, especially while stealing his heart.
