Yeah that was a vague threat and yet Mayuri was the first person that came to mind. It wasn't anything intentional, he just thought of Mayuri being hurt and since he realized he left them at the lab alone he rushed to see if she was alright. I'm sure he was worried for Kurisu too, but Mayuri being the only one on his mind speaks volumes on how much he cares for her the most and desires to protect her.

I also doubt Kurisu would do a time leap to change her past since she has stated that she doesn't want to change her life despite how much it hurts. That past is what made her who she is and she doesn't wanna change that. But she has no qualms changing the past in general for experiments just to see if it's possible. She's a true mad scientist lol. I think it was the beginning half of episode 8 she was talking to Okabe about that.
