This was...such a powerful episode o.o Rem really is best girl, omg!! Both characters gave incredible speeches here, this was so sad yet so epic!!

Make no mistake, Subaru DOES fit Pride, the same way Petelgeuse fits Sloth. Petelgeuse is also the opposite of Sloth with how hardworking and diligent he is, so it makes sense that someone with as little confidence as Subaru would be Pride (or maybe this is all a false flag and Pride is somewhere else...) I'm glad you weren't one of those people who expected Subaru to suddenly forget about Emilia and do a 180 degree turn to Rem after this, as feelings certainly don't work that way. And as Mitrospeed said: "It’s not the declaration of feelings that is in the center here but how a small achievement can spark a tiny flame that will never vanish anymore no matter what."

Also, you perfectly identified his protagonist complex and his desperate desire to be NEEDED by other people. He felt entitled from the very first episode and saw himself like a protagonist (even in the first ten minutes of the show, his joke about getting an Excalibur, or the fact that he tried to use magic to save a little girl rather than just do it normally point to that fact), and other people as just people who need his help as the protagonist. This speech helped him break free from that, and now he's actually going to EARN his status as a hero in the next eps.

I love that you girls didn't get mad at Subaru for still loving Emilia. When this episode came out, the rating for the show went down a little from him not reciprocating Rem's feelings, which is a real shame because I really respected Subaru for sticking to what he wants. He loves Emilia and he hasn't wavered on that. Rem is such a fantastic character though, I adore her to pieces.
