This took me way longer than I'd like to admit, but the reason is pretty simple - since this is where the game starts off (well, excluding the very first tutorial map), I wanted Durna's home to be a memorable landmark, along with the rest of Map01.

There are certain ideas at play here which I will detail on later - mostly concerning the ways in which this dwarven society would approach urban planning and how they'd integrate their buildings into the surrounding cave environment. Suffice to say, I'm aiming for a different style than the one you saw with the Iron Division orcs.

The pic on the left is just for me to get a feeling of the space size and scale, it's not reflective of Durna home's armosphere btw

This is awesome! So will Durna's home function like the hub levels in Hexen I &amp; II as well as Thief 3? If so, makes sense and it'll be great to see what secrets she has in her own domain.

I thought about it but no, I don't want to go the Thief 3 way with Haggard. You will revisit the place later on in game, but otherwise, it's just implied that it acts as Durna's HQ before she sets out to other locations.
