Ladies and gents, I would like to announce the beginning of a new Hedon project! Wait. What?

Now, now, I know what you're wondering - isn't Zan barely managing to scrape enough time to work on his new Unity project while also maintaining the Hedon game on the publishing side? Isn't adding an entire new project on top of that complete insanity?!?!

Well yeah. This is why I will be collaborating on this one with none other than Vostyok, the mastermind behind Ashes 2063, one of the most impressive, comprehensive and fun TC/games to have come out of the Doom modding sphere! If you haven't checked it out already, I strongly recommend that you do!

As you can see in the easter egg I posted above, this Hedon "expansion" has been in the talks for quite some time, and now that Vost has released Ashes Afterglow, we're going to finally start working on it.

So what is it about, then?
Although we refer to it as an expansion, we are planning to make this into a fully fledged Hedon game, really. Is this Hedon 3? No. In fact, this is a prequel which will cover the events leading up to Valc's invasion, before the player takes the role of Zan, waking up in the collapsed cave.

For this we are planning to introduce a new character, namely a goblin Reaver who we haven't yet found a definitive name for. No, she's not Tiati, although her role will be similar to hers.

And speaking of that, we are also planning to tailor the gameplay to fit this new character. We're aiming at a hybrid between Ashes and Hedon, but I will talk more about that as we reveal work in progress stuff.

I hope you're as excited for this as I am, because your support is making this possible! Although I'm not sure if I'm going to hire Vostyok per se, I will be definitely paying him for his time and work, whether he wants it or not. Although I will still be heavily involved into the project, Vostyok is the one making the new levels, and that's going to be a considerable amount of work. We are also not sure how we will release this (separate game, DLC, update, no clue for now).

I am also planning to introduce a new Patreon reward system, where instead of giving long time supporters paintings in a gallery at the end, I will be rewarding them with something more engaged with the game - custom props! I will elaborate more later, but yeah, stay tuned, those of you who are on Discord can now access the project's Patreon channel to keep track of development.
