This was such a fun exercise! I’ve found a few ways of producing drawings with flat, simple color that still feel dimensional and fleshed out. Every drawing lately has afforded me the opportunity to push my boundaries in little ways, introduce detail or dimension without overworking, and I am pleased with the results. There is a sweet spot somewhere between methodical overworking and rushed production, a smooth and steady cadence that takes its time but doesn’t linger, and I have been chasing that sweet spot all month. These drawings helped me get a little closer.
