Can confirm in New York we pronounce “gyro” like Amelia. Oddly, I grew up in a predominantly Greek neighborhood and still never heard the correct pronunciation until a few years ago.

I would guess that Wiger near-yelling “Who’s gonna have sex with me?” definitely won’t be at the heart of a bunch of drops…

Gyro is pronounced both ways in the Cleveland area. I say it like Amelia does.

Amelia has clearly never been to King Kong in Omaha https://youtu.be/afKQ0WCpi_E

Is anyone else missing Feedbag XVII and XVIII?

Michaela Parry

Nick and I play the same game in our heads and it's deeply unsettling.

I also hate “have your cake and eat it too.” Should be changed to “eat your cake and keep it too.”

Dan

I'm from Long Island and say it like Amelia. I know it's wrong, but I've been indoctrinated.

Amelia is right, we say “Jyro” in New York. If you asked for a “Yero” here, you’d get a sandwich on a long Italian roll.

I worked in retail for years and whenever they’d change the music (which was extremely rare) it was a breath of fresh air and a real morale booster. It was still all mostly bad pop covers. And when the Christmas music came on, it was the worst because it was the same five songs sang by different people as if that changed the music.

Well if you asked for a gyro like you do anywhere else, you might get a scientist who is a bird employed by Scrooge McDuck. Which would be cool too.

My mom is from Pennsylvania and she says “RATiator”

Cayla McNally

I'm from eastern PA and grew up saying "gyro" like Amelia does. I prob didn't hear it pronounced "yero" until I was in college.
