Savory is buttery or meaty. Similar to Japanese notion of Umami.

I know I’m late to this - finally sponsored you on Patreon so I’m catching up. Just to follow up on the one email you got - I’m also Type 1 and just wanted to clarify that we can eat whatever we want - nothing is technically off-limits - we just have to pay attention to what we eat, estimate our carb count as best as possible so we can calculate the amount of insulin to bolus. Restaurant desserts are pretty notorious for being high in sugar, but if I’m going to bother with dessert, I’m not getting a cheese plate :) usually I will split something as to not have to stay up for hours checking my blood sugar afterwards though. Ok I think this comment is long enough 🍰
