Without spoiling anything, some plot points here have pay offs outside DS9.

yeah - ive tried to get him into VGR - even Caretaker but I don't think he's into it. Which is fair - it's like it's entire own TV show - and DS9 itself is a commitment in and of itself - 7 seasons - doing 1-2 episodes a week - he's got a good year or 18 months of this. And this channel isn't the star trek reacts channel - whilst im here mostly for that stuff, he has a sizeable audience for movies in general and other tv shows and series. There's about 25 minutes total screen time of Voyager's "Caretaker" episode which flesh out The Maquis a little bit - and there's about 30 minutes total screen time in season 1 in relation to a Cardassian spy within the Maquis --- buuutttt, The Maquis were only introduced in TNG and then DS9 in order to set up Caretaker back in 1994/5 when UPN was getting off the ground. DS9 was never "about" The Maquis, even though it did lend itself into the theme due to politics / location (cardassians / bajor etc). So yeah there's a little bit here or there outside of DS9 but honestly, at this stage, he's got the gist of them - and DS9 will cover the rest. Whilst DS9 does affect voyager down the road, nothing that happens on voyager affects DS9 so outside of the first 25 mins or whatever of Caretaker, there ain't much else really. EDIT sorry didnt mean to come across as negative or argumentative - like, ur not wrong heh - there are other points that have payoffs outside DS9 for sure.
