Mini Review #66: Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer (1964) (Patreon)

I thought it would make for a nice little Christmas reaction to watch this classic Rudolph story on the channel. I had seen it before, granted about 15 years ago when I was just a kid, and only remembered that there was an Abominable Snow Man that I was scared to death by. The movie itself is sweet and simple with a nice message about accepting everyone. I really loved some of the characters, especially Rudolph, the Dentist Elf, and that Yukon guy! Santa was such a bully in this movie though. Not only did he bully Rudolph and tell his father that he was a disappointment, but it also seemed like he hated his elves! #notmysanta. Besides this, the stop motion animation was extremely well done and there were some shots and moments that were beautiful to look at. The Island of Misfits especially had a scene that gave me chills.

Overall, a short but very sweet Christmas classic that I am glad I re-watched!!!
