Yes, Romero did participate in the 1990 remake of this movie. One of the only remakes I enjoy to be honest. I believe the actor playing Johnny was also involved in the remake.

Ollie, I think you had said way back during the "The Birds" reaction how intense the feeling of being trapped in a small space barricaded from danger can be in a movie. You can see that formula works over and over in tons of TV shows and movies (I'm sure you're seeing it right now in your Alien reactions.) Living Dead was definitely the king of that tho. Total feeling of isolation claustrophobia and helplessness though the whole film. BTW I see you've already seen Shaun Of The Dead. My favorite line in that movie was when they went to go save Shaun's mom but phoned her first and he shouted into the phone "We're coming to get you, Barbara!" Hilarious line but only if you've seen the first scene of this one and get the reference.
