The Vulcan ka-tra passing is in the second movie. Where he touches Bone’s face and says remember.

This was Leonard Nimoys first movie so that had something to do with the wooden feel. He also directs IV and then Shatner directs V. Nimoy directing was a condition to get him back as Spock they killed him off as a condition to get him in Wrath of Khan because Nimoy was very aggravated about being typecast but after they actually did he realized how much he liked Star Trek. The burning blood thing is from the original series where we learn Vulcans have to mate every 7 years or they die so that’s what was going on with Saavik and why she couldn’t look at him in the final scene.
