The Dutch angles and over the top goofiness come from the 60s TV show. All four of these movies were part of the same run. My best guess is that Keaton and/or Burton wanted a better deal money wise and the studio didn’t want to accommodate. Obviously the studio wanted movies that were brighter with more color, more fun and goofy but a sexier cast than Burton would ever deliver. I’m sure the studio felt like it was easy to recast Batman because it’s more about the suit and car than the actor I’m not say any of this is fact, just my guess. I’m sure YouTube will have a comment based on official facts. Written by someone who knows how to spell, use proper grammar and punctuation, who did all the major corrections on the Wikipedia page, has transcribe the audio commentary, and has all research and references linked. Not me. I wrote this and coughed and my phone slipped as I swiped my comment away and I thought screw it, I’m rewriting it, making it longer and I won’t waste time proof reading as I may cough while doing so and lose my comment again.

Batman Returns wasn't the success the studio wanted at the box office. They blamed Tim Burton's dark tone in his directing style not appealing enough for a broad audience so they decided to change directors. They brought in Joel Schumacher to give the franchise a more lighter tone. Keaton was originally supposed to return but did not like the script and the direction the franchise was going and you can see why. Technically, this film and the next one are in the same universe as the first two which is why you see some of the same actors in the roles they played previously but because of the change in tone for a greater box office appeal, the movie feels very different from Tim Burton's grittier/dirtier portrayal. Burton's directing style is very unique to him anyway so even if they wanted to recreate it, they most likely would have failed to do so.
