River Phoenix played the part of "young Indiana Jones" in the opening sequence of Last Crusade. Gordie grew up to be Wesley Crusher on Star Trek TNG. It's funny.. Kiefer S played the same kind of bad guy for years probably until he became "Jack Bauer" in 24. (and the President in Designated Survivor) I totally get the way this reminded you of the kids bonding in the "It" movies. I actually had the same exact thoughts when watching Stranger Things. The bonds between the kids were very similar.

Yes Stranger Things as well has the same feeling as both this movie and It. I hope Kiefer S enjoyed playing the same type of villain because he was really good at it.

"Lean on Me" is another one to take a look at that I relate with this one--though urban, focused on people of color, and more from the point of view of adults. Also, another smaller 80s Steven King adaptation to look at is "Silver Bullet". Not as good as "Stand by Me" but I nice one to watch.

I actually hadn't heard of both of those movies but I just looked them up and they look great! Especially Lean On Me that one looks really interesting and it also has Morgan Freeman who is the best
