As for Sisko baldness, I have read that it was actually because of some other tv show Avery Brooks was playing in where his character was bald. As far as I have read the situation was going for some time switching between DS9 and the other show, with Avery always getting his hair to grow up for making DS9. By the end of third season he felt his position in DS9 was solid enough for him to request of producers to make Sisko bald, something they actually did not want before, because of obvious similarities with Picard. To be honest I have never got into confirming it is true but it made sense so I did not look into it more. As for DS9 alone, now you will understand why many people wanted you to skip first seasons, watch some important episodes and start season 4. But watching you enjoying those seasons made me think how much you will enjoy DS9 from this season forward and soon you will see how from unwanted child of Star Trek, DS9 became the gem of entire Star Trek universe, beloved by many and regarded as best ST show ever (maybe not BY everyone, but certainly by me...).

So I count five changes to the opening credits, you surely caught four but you may have missed one subtle change. 1 New music 2 New visuals 3 "Captain" Sisko 4 Michael Dorn added as Worf 5 The actor who plays Bashir changed his name, from Siddig El Fadil in the first 3 seasons to Alexander Siddig starting in season 4.
