As i understood it, red was able to easly fight the new hero because he isnt skilled at all and just relies on his blessing to help him. But blessings dont give you the knowledge on how to properly fight, you still need to learn it by yourself and train. Red had agreed to leave the hero group at the time because it was true that he could no longer become stronger because his blessing ensured that his skills had a level cap. I suspect that it's similar to games, the damage you cause to enemies depends on your level and as the enemies get stronger and have more "HP", the damage that Red causes no longer increases, making him automatically weaker.

Also he doesn't likely even have the actual fr fr Hero Blessing to begin with. Otherwise where the Blessing of the Guide at? The Guide should have spawned somewhere near the Hero as well, yet his kingdom got pepsi'd entirely by the Demons at some point previously. Yes, the Guide is basically a spoof on the JRPG mentor type character in the prologue, who gets clapped by the baddie by the end of like Chapter 1 latest, which motivates the protagonist to fuck off & get stronger. So the Guide is basically broken OP for the 1st Chapter duration, but by Chapter 2 or w/e the Hero has surpassed the Guide already, and as per JRPG progression, the final mission is basically Kill God, more or less
