Blackbeard was deceptively foolish-looking, at the start I thought that mf was like luffy, then I thought he is like a normal villain, but now we know his IQ is online on top of being a villain. Literally was a nobody and suddenly became so strong. Looking forward to the next few eps!

There is that as well, but Blackbeard is a guy with BIG ambitions, and probably needed a way out of Whitebeard's shadow as well as setting his plans into motion. Again, without Thatch's death, many things like the Summit war and teach's intrusion of Impel Down wouldn't have happened.

That was an important moment, cause it's been many years since Roger's death. The statement from Whitebeard will most likely reignite the spark of the Great Pirate Era. Of course, that'll mean despair for the citizens of that world since the number of pirates will undergo crazy inflation.

Fair enough, but consider that ORIGINALLY he planned to clap Luffy to get the Warlord position, NOT Ace (he even asked Ace to join his crew before clapping him), and he needed the position to have access to Impel Down for the mfs on Level 7 or w/e to get his crew to completion. Clearly he had some other plan to get Whitebeard's DF, maybe he was gonna wait for years if need be until he pepsi's from old age & illness due to said age, who knows

8:35 Back in Impel when Luffy went to attack Blackbeard the second time. He was in Gear 2, and as soon as BB grabbed him. The steam and everything from Gear 2 vanished and he was able to make Luffy bleed from physical attacks. Meaning his rubber effects were negated. Could probably go the same for Gear 3
