To clarify that guy doesn't own the mansion the kids Dad does, he just trains the kid as a privately hired sensei. They get like three times the numbers whenever she shows up to train. Karou according the the author would IRL be considered an Olympic level master kendo master and place in the top ten internationals its just in the world of Kenshin with BS Shonen Warrior abilities that's not impressive.
