I think that it was because of Ragna's past trauma where his close ones got killed by dragons yet he always survived. Leo promised that she won't die when she saved Ragna at the beginning, but she still died in the alternative timeline with that promise. Also the people around him and his future self accused Ragna for leeching off Leo, Ragna decides to push Leo away as he senses closing threats, and he feels self-pity for what he did in the past and what his future self not managed to do. Also I don't think he can train Leo with the silver sword arts, since it was a silver sword just fused with his future self somehow and his future self developed the arts with the fused power.

Ngl, I do agree that some of the plot is a bit rough... especially the parting ways with Leo bit, which is so contradictory to his goal of protecting her to begin with. Sure, his ultimate goal is eradication, but it's not like he's expecting all that to happen right away. Other than that one gripe I have, this show is actually starting to grow on me. Starting off with what we thought was the OP companion in the series, to end up becoming "weak" in comparison to the MC. The animation isn't great, but it's by no means bad either. And I actually like the design and aesthetic they went for on Crimson. It was already mentioned on your stream, but Crimson's VA is a guy who happens to be the same VA as Joseph/Cartaphilus in Ancient Magus' Bride. When Crimson went all dark and evil with that monologue towards the end of the episode, it then hit me that the voice he was using was that of Cartaphilus.

Crimson's VA is the rare & elusive MALE VA who can pull the female voice off, when usually it's a female VA pulling off a male voice in addition to the female voice. He's basically the counterpart to Megumi Ogata tone wise, as her voice is as deep for a female VA as his is high for a male VA

Man, the VA for Crimson isn’t an actress, it’s and actor)) The same VA that voiced Hinata from Volleyball, Kage from Ranking of Kings and Kotetsu from Demon Slayer. He also voiced Luck from Black Clover, that mc from Devilman Crybaby and Udo from AOT. His name is Ayumu Murase

After the first episode I read the manga and it does get depth, if it’s adapted well I think it can be an 8.5/10.

Yes, this as well) It’s kinda amazing how he can change his voice to sound so feminine. The same with Megumi Ogata, but she does the opposite. Not so long ago I was sure she is a man before I googled her name lol

Kazuki Ohira

Her power from the flashback(flashforward since it's from the future?) seems similar to pandora from re:zero season 2 Emilia's flashback
