The visuals you see in the show or the lack there of at times is all because us the viewers are viewing the world in the Way Araragi does. It's funny cuz this is Light Novel blah blah blah, but I hate light novels I never read them.. but I have 0 issue with this show.

I would say after this season watch the 3 movies. Then decide if u want to continue it or not... Thou aint gonna lie, ahead awaits you waaay more confusing dialogue XD (except the 3 movies), BUT you prolly never gonna see something similar to this series. And all these arcs have their unique references to real life, other series and even life lessons.
