She didn't want to fight Oliver because he was strong.....she felt a connection with him crossing blades, she thought she deserved death either way but wanted to go out happy. Basically she feel in Love with Oliver but did so in the context of a sword duel when their hearts were bared, Oliver doesn't connect Love with Combat so he basically rejected her, and she was sad because she was dumped after her confession. Basically she has to learn to express love through non violent means.
