I truly can’t understand why the height difference bothers me so much. Lovely show. Great ost. Good director. It’s just that one aspect that bothers me. It’s the only thing holding me back from calling it peak

It's crazy how weirdly realistic this feels in comparison to other romcoms. Like this first date was extremely awkward and it honestly felt like their chemistry just didn't quite match up most of the time but that's exactly why it feels so real. Exceptionally well done in my opinion About the comparison to Kaguya-sama: Honestly it's quite difficult to even compare those 2 and it's hard for me to say which is better as well because they have such different focus and energy. Even though they're clearly both romcoms, they're obviously going for very different things and in my opinion both are pulling it off perfectly in their own way.

Are you a traditionalist and just need the guy to be taller all the time or maybe is it because you think he looks like a kid in comparison to her? I'm genuinely wondering what your reasoning is exactly here, not trynna throw shade

It might just be the overwhelming difference in height. Truly he does look like a little kid in comparison to Yamada, and I wish it wouldn’t bother me but it just does

They're both great but honestly I feel like it's wrong to compare them both as "romcoms" Kaguya is way more artificial with its comedy while this feels more natural.

They’re literally in middle school lol. I’m sure at some point down the road Ichi will start getting taller while Yamada stays the same height. My nephews passed me in height when they got to High School. I’m 5’10 and they’re all 6’something.

that isn’t the point. I’m talking in present tense. there’s also the possibility of him staying the same height. use whatever logic you want but ichikawa present tense in the anime looks like a baby compared to yamada and it simply bothers me. It doesn’t stop me from liking the show as a whole. But it does hold me back from calling it peak unfortunately.
