I think Maru's touch worked on the Hotel Girl, because it works on "Humans". Like we saw in Ep 2, with the Inn Lady. She said the monster ate/absorbed her Son. And then it killed her and ate/absorbed her. So these monster might be Humans that turned into monster. And I said "Humans" and not Humans, because it doesn't work on all Humans but only special ones. Maybe those that were in the Labs with all the kids. Because the kids are clearly involved somehow, because the 1 kid draws picture of these monster which he probably doesn't know of. It also caught me a bit off guard that Tokio is a girl, and I was surprised that Joe didn't reacted to that. Because I think so far they haven't mentioned it that Tokio is a Girl. And it just seemed like he was a Boy the whole. I mean we all, Joe included, were surprised when Tokio and the Boy that draws the monster were confessing that they like each others. Because we all thought they both were boys. But if they make Maru here, then it would explain why Tokio looks like a younger Maru. Then it would be 2 Time lines. And the Great Disaster is when the Lab with the kids went to shit and all the monster stuff happened. Monster that they basically created. And the Hotel Girl is someone connected to the Kids from the Labs (maybe because her "parents" were kids from the lab) and because they have these weird abilities Maru can touch them. Because the Monsters might've been Humanoids that are or became these monsters, that maybe have similar dna to the kids in the labs, since they probably experiment with these kids.
