I have the feeling that you forgot that the whole thing is a battle royale. Maiya fighting for one side makes her the target of every other side, including rider.

Yes, Einzbern Family created her (well to be specific, the Family Head Acht did). Einzberns are not like the other big boi clans are, since they DON'T have Humans in their ranks, they are solely Homunculi w/ the Head being the only non-Homunculus, as a type of Golem himself (Golems and Homunculi have subtle differences specs wise etc, after all). The Einzberns view themselves as mere tools, to be discarded or consumed in the end-game goal of reaching the Root. Oh BTW it's hilarious af that Irisviel is basically a pre-teen mom, since AFAIK she's like 10-12 by this point in time, so like 7 or w/e when she gave birth to Illyasviel (I eyeballed the flashback Illya to be like 3-5, I don't think I'm that far off calculations based on her visuals)

Just so you know Kiritsugu is the mc of this fate, there is some series where the mc don't have a lot of focus but is still the mc, and yes saber is the most popular character in the whole series, and also the mc in the next one is not her either.
