2023-03-06 20:08:13 The massage part was a bonus chapter, the anime spliced it into this scene. It originally ended with Gamou & Yoshi walking in on them. Also I'm pretty sure this is the first time we got senpai's last name. In the original before it became a serialized manga Nagatoro would make fun of his name because it has prince in it.

Yeah. Just enjoy the journey. Sure, it's frustrating sometimes but it sure as hell beats having romance animes rush everything in a few episodes. Gotta make the characters earn that W in the end.

Looking at comparable recent rom coms, angel next door really is moving egregiously slow. By this time in Nagatoro, tomo, mdud, and kaguya we at least had more exploration of the relationship dynamic

We went from 2 people barely knowing each other to 2 people holding hands while going on dates, understanding each other and speaking their feelings honestly. How is that "egregiously slow"? Meanwhile in Nagatoro, while the relationship has progressed a whole lot and I'm definitely satisfied with how things are going, talking honestly about each other's feelings is completely and utterly out of the question for the most part and this is already the second season.

They practically live with each other, that's why it's so slow. You can't practically live with each other for months and then all of a sudden act like your doing something mean to someone by poking their cheek. I know people love the wholesomeness, but it stretches credulity.

that's just not even true, development wise there has been much more "romantic" activities that have happened in angel next door by this point than nagatoro and the afformentioned others. it's just we haven't had them explicitley say it to themselves how they feel.
