In response to your question there was a scene in a previous episode where she recovered her Earth memories when she was around 5. It showed her remembering Earth and suddenly becoming obsessed with flying with magic.

I do agree that it was weird having to end the Al arc at episode 9. It would have felt more natural if that was the actual ending to the entire series (or season 1, assuming we'd get more than 1 season). With only 3 episodes to go, I'm curious as to what else they could cram into the remaining episodes without it feeling rushed... unless of course they planned on not making this show just a one-off.

Lainie doesnt feel the pain that receives Algard. After she regenerated, it didn't stop her from feeling the pain of being disemboweled. So she wonders how Algard can endure so much pain despite all the injuries he receives. Also, from what I understood from this episode and the previous one, Then that Algard hate the world and injustice since he was born and he suddenly inherited the throne when for him, his sister is much more worthy than him, he took the resolution to change the inequalities of the Kingdom. However, the predecessors including his grandfather who tried to remove the inequalities, the nobles revolted to prevent this. Since Algard didnt feel strong and intelligent enough and thought that only power would make it possible to impose the change he wanted to make the kingdom more egalitarian, He decided to gain power so that no one would dare stop him. In the end, he resents Anis for having abandoned the inheritance of the throne since for him, she would have been able to realize her wish and that she be vastly better able to rule the kingdom. On top of that, he heard all the time since its inherited the whispers that they would rather she be inherited because his sister is far more talented despite his best efforts to reach her height. He suffered all his life.

There’s a couple lines that were cut from the light novel that I really liked. It happened during the conversation with Euphy and Al. After she says he was the worst fiancé, she then mentions that maybe it could have worked out if she had tried to understand him as a person. He jokes about her possibly being the one who got away. But then she realizes that if she had actually understood Al when they were still engaged, she would have been the one to walk away. I don’t know, I think it’s a really nice moment. Euphy has spent the entire anime irrationally blaming herself for the failure of her engagement, but at that moment she finally accepted that they had been fundamentally incompatible.

Bro became a martyr for his sister. Roped up all the corrupted nobles in his scheme to betray them in the end and die in repentance for his sister's treatment by the aristocrats. All that is basically what I could surmise from Al's action so I could be wrong. He basically pulled a Lelouch here dammit lmao. I hope we revisit Al again and see how he's been otherwise I'm gonna be real sad.

As low as he thinks of himself, Algard's plan was actually smart. If he beat Anis, he would be able to rebuild the kingdom for her, then maybe pull a Lelouch. If he lost, which is what happened, the anti-Anis people working with him get killed. He managed to create a win-win situation.
