They can't tear his wound open cause they don't want Taiju to die despite him being absolutely aweful. If he dies the future there trying to stop will be back on track where Kisaki blackmails Hakkai into being his puppet. Thats why it was important when Hakkai switchs from saying he'll kill him to he'll beat him thats them actually shifting the future. After Mikey beats him up I'm guessing he will be arrested like Kazutora so he's not around anymore.

But how can Kisaki blackmail Hakkai if everyone knows Hakkai didn't kill Taiju and also they know his dark secret, I would imagine the blackmail was "your sister saved you, you never protected her and she protected you again little bitch, you work for me now or I'll tell everyone the truth." I suppose Mikey beating Taiju's ass works too.
