I feel like this anime is just a few wierd conversations and dense mc moments that keep it from being a contender for best romance anime imo still real good ofc

I hate when something happens and I'm like "hmm lets' look at joe and see how he reacted to that" and I look over and see him doing his eyebrow thing looking at the camera and I'm just like.. dammit joe!! xD

It definitely does look like a past trauma changed Fujimiya's personality quite a bit. In that flashback, it did seem like he was more confident and outgoing... but something happened with that "friend" of his that caused him to become the way he is right now. Though, I suspect the way he saved Shiina in their HomeEc class was the side of his personality that got repressed, momentarily showing itself because of her. I actually like the gradual progression of their bond slowly evolving from strangers to friends, and quite possibly even more soon. It's still early but this show is my pick for best romcom anime of 2023, at least until something crazier in the next 3 seasons blows me away.

I hate to admit it but it looks like we might have another romcom MC that's a little dance she's giving him all the signs in this episode that she wants to take it to the next level but he just is not seeing it and I really want to find out what's going on with his past and those 3 dudes in the flashback
