So just to clear up a few things going forward in this show (non-spoiler-y bc these are just fun facts and don't really pertain to the actual plot), but a decent portion of the ability names do not reflect what the ability is. For example, Dazai's ability is called "No Longer Human" but that name doesn't really allude much to the fact that it is a nullification ability. The reason the names are so odd and poetic is because a lot of the characters and their ability names are related to real life authors. Using Dazai again, he is named after a famous Japanese author named Dazai Osamu. His ability is named after the authors last and possibly most famous work, a book called "No Longer Human". Another fun fact - the character Dazai's infatuation with committing sewer slide stems directly from the author Dazai Osamu. He was also a su*c*dal man who attempted to die multiple times. The character Dazai is also now infatuated with committing double sewer slide - he keeps asking pretty young ladies to commit with him. This is a direct connection to the death of the author Dazai Osamu, who committed double su*c*de with his girlfriend by drowning in the canal (which is why we often see the character Dazai floating around in bodies of water).
