Loved the reaction. The "fog" was just the shadows and light coming from the window but becuase it raining the shadows were moving in the manner that they were. Also going back to the hand on knee/thigh I think it was in the same manner a hand on shoulder but I guess the thigh was closer so it was more natural.

Personally, I think Akira is the type of person who actually loves and cares about someone but doesn't necessarily pursue a romantic relationship (unless something more forward happens). That friend who may or may not end up with the person she cares for but still wants him to be happy in the end. She's basically the childhood friend archetype in a lot of other animes. In this show, Akira has a similar feeling of loneliness and sense of being out of place as Ko does, but the only difference is that she chooses to go through the motions of daily life to conform with societal norms as opposed to what Ko is doing. And it looks like Akira only finds solace from her mundane routine when she's around Ko. Whether or not their friendship could potentially develop into something more remains to be seen. And I do agree with you on the handling of mood and aesthetics in this show. The usage of different color saturations, color palettes, and even the BGM sets up the scenes so well. Also, to add one more thing... the scene where they were all lying down and trying to sleep in Nazuna's room, you noticed there was some mist or fog in the room... that wasn't really a humidifier or even mist/fog... what you saw on that shot was the refraction of the light from outside the window as it passes through the raindrops and glass. It's these examples of attention to detail and aesthetic choices that made me really love this show. The pacing is a bit of a slow-burn and it doesn't quite introduce a lot of plot elements yet, but it more than makes up for it in the soundtrack, scene composition, and adorkably likeable characters.

Maybe Akira will also make the decision to become vampire at some point because just as you said, she experiences the similar feelings as Ko and what makes her happiest is being around him. In the end also becoming a vampire will mean she is able to be around him more.
