You'd be surprised but Japan still doesn't have the most favorable view of the Otaku culture. There are even some in the country who find it annoying that most foreigners find appeal in Japan, the most, specifically just because of anime and manga. It's gotten better for the rest of the world but for the Japanese, there are still some who cringe at Otaku culture, in general.

I'm with you on Saekano lol. It's a shame it got stuck in Amazon jail, it's one of the greatest romcoms ever made and alot of people in the west never saw it
