I'm more excited for the next episode than these, though learning about the kid will play a part in the future for Myne, I'm sure.

The problems that they are having with ink's and dyes are actually part of a really interesting bit of world building - but it also, very elegantly, corrects one of the more visually obvious historical blunders in the show. Wooden buildings would have had to have been painted and stained otherwise they would rot away within a year or two, historically wooden peasant houses were painted in a great variety of colour - it was the wealthier people that could afford both consistent (the same shade all over is quite difficult and expensive) and more tasteful colours . So the reason that the peasant buildings in bookworm are drab and colourless has become a unique part of the fantasy world instead of just being a hollywood based inaccuracy. There are quite a few such corrections throughout the series (the plumbing situation being the other big one) where is seems that Miya Kazuki went big into research after getting a lot of readers for part one of the web novel. Oh, and the colours that result from the combinations aren't random (even though they sort of lseem random to Myne at the moment)

These two episodes were certainly slow, even per average pace of LN to anime conversion up until now. I guess they really wanted to drive home Delia to Dirk bond. Understandable. Now, we finally get introduced to and learn some proper names of people, places and their involvement in events of Spring Prayer. - Lord Bezewanst ( white beard man, top authority of the Ehrenfest temple ) - Viscountess of Dahldolf ( mother of executed knight Shikikoza who injured Myne in the past ) - Viscount Gerlach ( The man who was in part behind the Spring Prayer attack. I’m very pleased to see this character getting more screen time. He’s a shrewd man to say the least… character design, voice acting and animation is about as good as I imagined him to be. ) - Count Bindewald ( A noble from another domain, Ahrensbach, who lend some of his Devouring soldiers to Viscont Gerlach who were killed by Lord Karstedt nuke during the Spring Prayer. ) - We also learn of Bezewanst’s older sister (name omitted for now) and her not so big fondness of Ferdinand. Viscountess of Dahldorf in particular drives this point home with her remarks. Lots of information in such a small segment. Also, that black orb. Dang, that’s huge. Way bigger than I thought. As far as colored ink and Myne. 1st of all let’s remember that she’s in a rush to develop it ASAP so that her younger baby brother might enjoy colored picture books and whatnot. So although she’s ok with brief experimenting sessions, she not really into research to try and find answers to “why” or “how”, like Heidi. Myne is definitely experiment/method->results driven. At least in this case. Otherwise, talk about true isekai where mixing colored pigments with seemingly transparent oils doesn’t produce common sense results haha. Good luck figuring that out without knowing the real reason of why ( for now ).

While these episodes were slow, they are also what i love about this series.... it has no issue taking its own pace and time.

Brookie XD

The freckled faced green haired orphan that works for Ferdinand is named Arno. And I agree with you 100% Do Not Like Him At All

So it's not like Myne does not want to know how or why the ink changes colour, it's more a priority to get the coloured ink she needs to make the books for her little brother, I can't remember if it mentioned it now in the Anime, but from what I remember in the Light Novel she is still happy to fund the research into why the inks change the way they do.

Also I remember you saying in one of your reactions that you are thinking about getting the light novels after this season ends, if that is the case I would be very interested in hearing your reactions to the books, and how you feel they hold up to the Anime
