Why is the screen transparent in episode 2

My main thought is that it wasn't that the Demon Queen was defeated, but that he was powerful enough to do it solo, all in one go. He just walked in, crushed everything, and walked out like it was no big deal. If it had been a party, even if he still did all the work, then it could be conrtibuted to the teams strength and the people would be less afraid. I say people, but I'm thinking more the higher ups who are afraid that he will come to take their power or position away.
