The memories that both the King and Queen got are like an info dump, but it's like they actually lived that and returned to a moment in the past before everything began to go wrong. At least that's how it worked in the book. In the LN I think both the king and queen got the memories of the other timeline, not just Albert the King, And we do get to see the other timeline, but later in the LN. The queen has had this happen from multiple incarnations of herself where she married the wrong person and was about to die from the royal war between her siblings. Albert ended up being the only way she survived the war of the royals. And even though she didn't want it she became the queen by default because all of her sibling had killed each other. It is referenced a bit in the LN, but ultimately wasn't important to the main story. So I understand why they didn't add it. I really hope we get more of this, the stuff that happens after is even more interesting from the world building and the relationships status. Dealing with other countries and also religious doctrines. It gets more tangled and interesting. And even right now in the anime, he hasn't officially become king yet. So yes, I want more of this story to be explored in season 2.

I have the same reaction as you thinking that the former King maybe also from isekai when I first read this part of the LN haha

If I remember correctly, she can only use the ability once. After she sends her memories into the past, the present her that send the memories can no longer do so but the her in the past that received the memories can do it once again.
