This show is just so wholesome, it's one of my favorites! The new dragons, Fafnir and Lucoa, are both based on mythology, with Fafnir being Norse and Quetzalcoatl being Aztec.

Tbh, isn't romance suppose to be a slow build up? KyoAni studios is well known for nice relationship dramas. Now that you are interested, you may want to look into the other IP`s they have in their arsenal. Generally, about all of them are very good.

About the schoolbag things you can search for details about "Randoseru", I remember a saying that it is some sort of standard item for elementary schoolchildren in Japan, usually they use the same bag for whole 6 years therefore parents are more willing to pay higher price for better quality. As also mentioned in the show, schools tried to eliminate the differences between students, therefore everyone use same type of backpacks, shoes etc. And it is even more expensive nowadays the wiki said that it can cost 5-70000 yen in average.

When you think this is good wait for S2 - the animation for the fight scenes where the best even when some actually action anime aired the same season xD In Japan the school dictates where you have to buy the clothes. In primary school there may not be a school uniform but the hats, school backpack, gym wear have to be the same for everyone with some stuff seperated because of gender.

Also end of march / beginning april the Sakura trees are in blossom season in Japan and it looks really stunning - saw it for myself when i went there. So companies would chose a day where they go to the park enjoying the view and trink for some socializing. But in general everyone does "flower viewing" during that that times from families, school clubs and so on Its a pretty common thing

Thats wicked, is a throwback to episode 2. When Thoru shows Kanna around the city and they see a guy talking on the phone using "Thats wicked". Thoru explained it as "magical words" that get you through most conversastions. One of the best things of the show is, it's highly rewatchable, it will always make you smile. Even after watching countless times.

hard to tell marriage season in Japan is June. In Japan a new school/university season starts in April also companies get their newcomers in april so thats the start of many new relationships. So that could be a reason for many romance animes

Speaking of Sebastian the butler, the VA for Fafnir ist actually the same VA as Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler (Daisuke Ono). (And he is also Erwin Smith.)

Not sure if someone else pointed this out yet, but it's a tradition for young students to were colored hats depending on their grade, it helps them stand out in crowds so they are less likely to get into accidents. Yellow hats are generally for First graders.
