Idk, I think it’s the attire and VA more than anything. Deeper voice and the attire looks like a lazy guy that hates his life. It is pretty ignorant of me though.

This is a KyoAni product. A very well known studio that animates its series whole heartedly. Good start, and a nice simmer throughout with many highs qnd very little to no low points.

The short and simple is that Miss Kobayashi`s dragon maid is a very good series featuring many great cast members that delves into many simple, yet familiar family matters and relationships. I voted for this anime as it can fill in for Bofuri for the comedic and world building it has to offer.

one of the reason why Dragon Maid S2 was hyped was beside the good story it is it was KyoAni first anime after the Arson attack on their headquarter where many talented people died. Dragom maid may be fantasy but it really has some great slice of life moments. Kobayashi is one of the best written MC and the side characters and their stories arent bad either

It totally can, I always thought it waas a romcom isekai, just never knew that the character that is Kobayashi was a woman. Honestly thought Kobayashi was someone else. Idk why. That character just never looked like a woman to me which is probably messed up to say but its anime. I imagine they specifically made the character look the way they do on purpose

I wouldn't beat yourself up too much about miss-gendering Kobayashi, Her character is deliberately written to be less outwardly feminine. This allows for comedy to be drawn out from her indignancy at being treated as less feminine(Mostly at this point boob size gags...sigh). And yeah this is not a Romcom, there is certianly romantic elements but the show is not about JUST that. I could say what it is about but then that would be a spoiler ;)
