they did the same thing with the "sorcerer" translation. It's supposed to be translated as "Devil" for context reasons so the way they are doing it makes the context confusing.

For real. They keep saying “Majin” in Japanese(I am fluent and can hear what they are saying) so I don’t know why they changed the subtitle from Devil to Sorcerer… T^T

Majin translates to Demon Person OR Magic Person, just like Maou translates to either Demon Lord OR Magic Lord (the latter is an example of Tensura for example, where only 1 Maou is a demon, just like how Majin is translated into Magicborn instead of demon, and Maso is translated into Magicule instead of Demoncule or however you'd translate something like that, particle or w/e I guess). Indeed this is why rarely do Maou look demonic to begin with, or even the "demon" race doesn't rly look different from normie humans visually speaking, because the only difference between them is often only mana augmentation over generations etc
