For reference, "human" isn't just referring to "tall-men" in this series, while "human" is categorized a little differently for each race in comparison to the settings in other fantasy series. (Non-plot specific spolier>>> Tall-men, half-foots, elves, ogres, dwarves and gnomes are considered as "human", whereas beast-men and kobolds are considered as "demi-human".)

Yeah it's a common thing in various fantasy settings, where for PC reasons "Human" refers to a fuckton of sapient races etc, generally Humans, Elves & Dwarves, sometimes some extra races. After all even tho Demons look generally almost identical to Humans, they are generally not categorized in the same grouping regardless of sapience & visuals.
