Show is great but its alot to take in and understand on the first watch

To understand what the hardliners are, it's easier to start from the other side of the coin, as that's more of what the anime has focused on so far. So far this season most of the media has taken an "anti-magician" stance, especially in the wake of Scorching Halloween, because their view is all mages are being raised to be weapons for military use. The hardliners, then, would be those in the government that want to use magicians as weapons - and perhaps even go as far as believing it's a magician's duty to be a weapon for military use. Meanwhile, magicians are caught in the middle of these factions - what magicians want is the CHOICE to use their power as they see fit, which is a big part of why Tatsuya is working on the projects that would greatly benefit society as a whole.

It has nothing to do w/ the helmet tho, It's his Elemental Sight..., the helmet is at best assisting it by making the job faster by providing reference points for him to use to perceive the insides of the facility as the Information Dimension perceives it in its raw data format, like it does w/ everything in existence as well as connected data nodes etc. In case the visuals weren't obvious, the Parasites inside the facility detected Tatsuya 'miring them, so they attack him (well, their actual body did at any rate, where all those tiny blobs' tendrils connect to for data sharing purposes etc since they are a hivemind lite type of lifeform & all that). The body looked pretty much the same as we saw in S3, and their default attack type are those lightning bolt magic thingies as well. Parasites essentially in their true form perceive the reality in somewhat similar-ish manner as Tatsuya does, sincethey are incorporeal lifeforms originally from outside our own dimensions, where all the magic energy comes from (which is why magic doesn't break any laws of energy conservation, since the system isn't a closed container but exists within extra-dimensional energy fields, so magic basically pulls this energy out of its ass by connecting to said higher dimensions to generate stuff like ice from literally nothing. This was all explained in S3 by Tatsuya of course, albeit heavily theoretical I can personally see it as having merit as being the reality of how magic works overall given the existence of entities like Parasites & others that exist as solely energy without physical 3D vessels)
