It was also a bit confusing but it seems like you were confused about it, even though they call it a 5 on 5 but it's really just the head guys fighting all the other fights don't really matter if we lost all 4 of them we still win if our boss wins or at least that's how I'm pretty sure it is based on what they said

Joe, this isn’t a tournament, how many wins they have doesn’t matter, the only thing that matters is the captain fight, the rest are just fighting because they want to.

He says "weak" there, so it more or less carries the meaning. As you can see, our 1st year team is pretty balanced. MC is a balanced build, lanklet there is the power build, and edgelord there is the counter type of fighter. Joe nah Suo is right, imagination is important for empathizing, because you have to be able to imagine the potential scenarios of you being in their shoes in any given encounter etc, and experience helps to enable far more accurate & varied simulations for that
