I've seen this commented in other places, but found it interesting: Kabru is basically the anti-thesis of Laios. Laios is very curious about monsters, especially when they are super dangerous and scary. He has little interest in people, which could be seen here by him being unable to realise that Shuro was malnourished and exhausted. He also doesn't understand social cues and appropriate behaviours, because he never really cared about interacting with people. Meanwhile, Kabru is extremely interested in people, but very superficial with monsters. To him, all monsters are evil and as an adventurer he needs to kill them. He doesn't know their weaknesses and his group got wiped out because of this multiple times. On the other hand, he can read people extremely well, knows their weaknesses, can easily manipulate them with a smile on his face - as seen when he was talking about how "interesting" it is to eat monsters. So to Kabru, the main siblings are incredibly interesting, because they are so different from normal people. Their unknown and unusual behaviour is very exciting for him to witness, because it's all a new experience for him.
